How to Use This WikiAll of the coursework for the following week will be posted to this wiki by 4 p.m. Friday. Most discussions about the readings and coursework will occur on the wiki page devoted to that particular week's assignment. Learning how to navigate this wiki will make it that much easier to complete the weekly assignments. Here are some tips to get you started.
- You can get to the wiki by going to http://semls.wiki.zoho.com. Every Friday, the instructor will post the assignments to the Home Page of this wiki.
- In the right column, you can find course links to the syllabus, the How to Use this Wiki page, and the Help page. This column will also include links to participant blogs and other useful information as the class progresses.
- Also in the right column, next to the "Navigate pages" heading, is a link to the Site Map for this wiki. If you are having trouble finding a page, you can refer to the Site Map. The Quick Search can also help you find information.
- If you are using an RSS Reader, you can be notified when changes are made to this wiki by adding the wiki feed to your Reader. If you click on the "Dashboard" link in the top navigational menu, you will come to a page where you can subscribe to a feed for Recently Changed pages as well as one for Recent Comments (I've found that the feed for comments does not work very well). If you don't know what I'm talking about in this bullet point, don't worry. You will learn more about RSS in Week 3.
- Discussion is the at the heart of this course. You will be asked to post comments to the wiki every week to react to your exercises for the week. To do so, click on the "post a comment" link at the bottom of the wiki page where that particular discussion is happening.
- If you do not see a "post a comment" link on the page, you are not logged into Zoho with an account authorized to comment on this wiki. You will either need to log in or contact the instructor for assistance.
- Feel free to contact the instructor at any time if you have trouble using the wiki. If you use the Help wiki page by clicking on the link in the right column, everyone can benefit from reading your question and seeing the answer. You can also contact the instructor directly at klussier@semls.org. More methods of contacting the instructor are available at the top of the Syllabus.
