Kathy,
I figured out the answer to my question. Trial and error is great.

I'm glad you figured it out Theresa, but I'll answer your question anyway since others may have the same question.
At the bottom of the blog post, you will see a link that says "0 comments" (if there are now comments) or "1 comments" (if there is one comment.) Depending on the template used, the text may be a little different.
If you click on that link, you will be brought to a form where you can post a comment. Depending on the discussion options set by the blog owner, you may need to log into your WordPress account before you can post a comment. For this class, this may work fine since we all have WordPress accounts, but in a public or academic library, you will probably need to open up comments to everyone since you can't expect really expect your users to create an account to participate on a blog.
If you click Submit and don't immediately see your comment, it is most likely because the blog owner has set the discussion options so that they must approve comments before they are published. Libraries usually like the idea of holding comments for moderation because they are worried about the comments that will be posted to the site. However, most successful blogs just let their users post live to the site. You can always have WordPress notify you when the comment is posted and delete the comment is inappropriate.
Hope this helps!

I forgot to mention how to control these settings on your own blog:
If you go to Options < General, there is a checkbox by Membership that says "Users must be registered and logged in to comment." Remove this checkmark to allow the general, non-WordPress-using public to comment on your blog.
Go to Options < Discussion to decide whether comments should be moderated or not. If you check "An administrator must always approve the comment," then the comment will not appear until you actively log into the blog, click on the "Comments" tab, and then click to approve. I do not have this checkmark set on my blog, but I have checked off "Comment author must have a previously approved comment." The first time anyone comments on my blog, you won't immediately see the comment. But, once I approve that first comment, you should have not trouble commenting after that.
WordPress does have a Spam filter built in that does a fairly good job of keeping the Spam out.

In technorati, what does authority and no authority mean?

I just read your comments about authority and I understand the difference.

I've had a couple of questions about del.icio.us buttons via e-mail and this wiki, and I wanted to post a couple of suggestions.
If using IE 7, you should be able to use the del.icio.us extension at http://del.icio.us/help/ie/extension. Unfortunately, the screenshots to help you do show an older version of IE, which is a little confusing. If you go through the process of installing the extension, which involves agreeing to Terms of Agreement and clicking through several Next buttons, and you still do not see the buttons, you might need to right-click on your toolbar and make sure del.icio.us is checked.
If you still can't get it to work, you can try the bookmarklet, which is supposed to work in any browser. That is available at http://del.icio.us/help/buttons. There are also links from that page to the pages for installing on Safari and Opera.
Hope this helps!

That's what I did - I got to the bookmarklet via help. It worked fine.

I don't see to be finding the post a comment link at the bottom of each discussion topic. It isn't always there. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind; I went back in to the specific links and found them. This is like learning a new card game....

Kathy WHAT IS the feed for this wiki and how do I find it?
kmlussier, 203 - days ago
Jane - I'm going to respond to all of your comments about RSS here. I know we went over some of this stuff at the workshop today, but I thought it would be helpful to have this written out.
As far as adding the RSS feeds to Google Reader, I have modified the page with the Google Reader section so that all of the steps related to adding the wiki feed are indented and bulleted under Step 3. I think this makes a little more sense since all of those bullet points describe how to do add that feed.
Also, if you add the feed and don't get the confirmation message that allows you to put the feed in a folder, you can create folders and place feeds into a folder by clicking on the "Manage Subscriptions" link, which is in the lower left corner of the screen.
The feed for the wiki is in the right column. You will see the orange icon by a heading that says "Recently Changed." There is also a feed for comments to this wiki, but I would not recommend using it. For some reason, it keeps sending me the same comments over and over again.
As far as the del.icio.us button, if you are using Firefox, I think the easiest way to add the button is to go directly to the site for the Firefox extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1532.
Good luck!

Hi Kim,
I'm guessing it got caught by a Spam filter. Do you have a folder where you can access your Spam? If not, you may want to try using a home e-mail address to create the account. Let me know if you still are unable to get it.
